Pirae was the site as already-eliminated Tahiti hosted already-eliminated Solomon Islands in Tahiti's final home match of Brasil 2014. The home side were looking to earn their first points of the OFC Third Round, and a free kick goal from Heimano Bourebare provided them with the opener a couple minutes before the half-hour mark. The difficult task for Solomon Islands was made all the more difficult by the fact that they traveled with only thirteen players to the match, only two of whom had been previously capped. Steevy Chong Hue had two chances to extend the lead before the break, but he was unable to do so. Tahiti led 1-0 at the break.
With twenty minutes to goal, Solomon goalkeeper Sammy Osso made a nice save to deny Yannick Vero, but a dozen minutes later Tahiti captain Nicolas Vallar scored from a long-range effort to finally put the game out of reach and give Tahiti reason to celebrate for the first time in round three of qualifying. Tahiti win 2-0.
