Bolivia 1 - Argentina 1

Argentina were glad to be back in the friendly confines of Buenos Aires after their first ever loss to Venezuela last month. Their opponent on the day was last-place Bolivia. In the 22nd minute, Gonzalo Higuain scored for Argentina after what should have been an advantage call, but the referee instead marked a foul outside the box, robbing Argentina of the opening goal. To further add to their awful luck, in the 35th minute, Javier Pastore struck a left-footed shot off the post, and somehow Argentina were not ahead. Instead, they were goalless and tied with Bolivia at the match's midway point.

Argentina were clearly shell-shocked by their stolen goal, but a sweet move after Martin Dimechelis allowed Bolivia's Marcelo Martins (pictured, green #9) to smash a ball past the goalkeeper from six yards. Bolivia had a shock 1-0 lead, so Argentina immediately called to the bench for Ezequiel Lavezzi. Lavezzi had been in the match for one minute when he equalized, cancelling out Martins's opener just four minutes later. Argentina sought the winner for the final half hour. Argentina for the match outshot Bolivia 16 to 5 and took six corners against zero taken by their opponents, but it was not enough on this day. The match ended in a 1-1 stalemate, and Bolivia won their first point.
