Mauritius withdraw from 2014 FIFA World Cup

Mauritius announced today that they will not be taking part in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Mauritius were scheduled to face Liberia in the CAF First Round. Liberia now have clinched a spot in the CAF Second Round and will partake in CAF Group J alongside top seed Senegal, second seed Uganda, and third seed Angola. Liberia become the first of twelve teams to advance from Round One of African qualifying.

Group J figures to be hotly contested. Senegal and Angola both qualified for the 2012 African Cup of Nations as group winners, and Uganda dealt Angola a 3-0 blow in Kampala at the start of qualifying.
