Colombia 1 - Peru 0

Peru and Colombia completed CONMEBOL Matchday Five in Lima.  Colombia did a great job shutting down the Peruvian attack force which is always so potent at home.  Andre Carillo had latched onto a long through ball just past the midway point of the first half, but he could not decide whether to shoot or to dribble around Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina, so he dribbled right into Ospina's arms.  Three minutes later, Peru's Luis Ramirez stole the ball in the corner from Mario Yepes and found the ball back at his feet seconds later in the box, but his booming shot sailed just wide.  The first half closed scoreless.

In the second period, Colombia found the opening goal on pretty chipped pass from Darlon Pabon to James Rodriguez (pictured, yellow) who was charging in toward the goal.  The goal was Rodriguez's first for the Cafeteros. Colombia would have made it 2-0 later, but Falcao botched an open header five yards in front of goal.  Peru were unable to mount any serious offensive threats late, so Colombia win their second road match during the 2014 FIFA World Cup by a score of 2-0.  Colombia now remain firmly in the hunt for Brasil 2014 despite having no wins at home.
