CAF Third Round Pot Allocations

Africa has been awarded five spots at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brasil. The final ten African teams will learn their qualifying fates this Monday, 16 September 2013, at the draw ceremony in Cairo.  Of the original top ten seeds from the preliminary draw, all but South Africa have advanced to the CAF Third Round draw.  Ethiopia are the only team outside the top ten to have made it this far.

Teams ranked 1 to 5 have been placed in Pot 1. Teams ranked 6 to 10 have been placed in Pot 2. One team from each pot will be drawn into each of five home-and-away aggregate-goals series. Teams have been placed in pots 1 and 2 for the third-round draw as follows.

1. Cote d'Ivoire
2. Ghana
3. Algeria
4. Nigeria
5. Tunisia

Pot 2
6. Egypt
7. Burkina Faso
8. Cameroon
9. Senegal
10. Ethiopia
