Already-eliminated Bolivia and La Paz played host to Ecuador. Ecuador, with much more for which to play, were on the front foot early. In an unremarkable first half, no goals were scored.
Early in the second period, Bolivia scored a goal from a wonder strike from Jaime Arrascaita. Arrascaita smacked a line drive from twenty-seven yards out to put Bolivia on top 1-0. Marcelo Martins and Arrascaita were linking up splendidly as dual strikers for Bolivia. Arrascaita received a headed pass from Martins and struck the post from a tight angle. Later, Martins drove a ball from thirty-five yards into the crossbar. Unfortunately, terrible luck struck Bolivia ten minutes after they had taken the lead. Ronald Raldes tripped in his penalty area and his arm landed on the ball, resulting in a penalty kick which Ecuador converted. Ecuador showed a little more initiative than did Bolivia in the latter stages of the match, but nothing would come of it. The match ends in a 1-1 draw.
